Bliz is new sponsor of the swedish biathlon team

Sports glasses have an important function for the biathletes, they should protect the eyes against both sunlight, rain and snow. At the same time, they should go easily and smoothly to flip up before the shooting moment and there should be the possibility of changing lenses, depending on the weather and light intensity. This puts high demands on the glasses and now the Swedish manufacturer Bliz is charging to deliver world-class spectacles to the biathlon team.

- Future Eyewear was founded in 1984 and has several brands of sun and sports goggles. Bliz, which is the most famous, was created 11 years ago. We have long experience from other sports and we feel safe with the quality of our products, ”says Jan Jonsson, founder and principal owner of Future. We are featured with our products in many of the worldsmen in Cross Country Skiing and Ski Cross, but also in recent years in Alpin skiing. Some names are Charlotte Kalla, Frida Hansdotter and Dario Cologna. In Biathlon we are brand new at the national level in Sweden, but have some top skiers internationally, such as Kaisa Mäkäräinen. In addition to skiing, we also put a lot of efforts into the bike segment.

As part of the cooperation, Bliz will deliver glasses for both training and competition. At the same time, Bliz will help the biathletes to further develop the products with the goal of producing the world’s best sports glasses for Biathlon.

”For us, it is extremely pleasing to work with a premium product like Bliz, announces Wolfgang Pichler, Head coach for the Swedish Biathlon Team. The entire team has now tested their products at our first camp and I am completely confident that this will be excellent.

The target group of biathlon enthusiasts is generally very active athletes in various fitness sports, but also in alpine skiing, which makes the collaboration an interesting part of Bliz’s point of view. The cooperation will run over the next four seasons and will start the next season with the World Championships at Östersund 7-17 March 2019. The interest in Biathlon is now wide across the country and new associations are being established at a rapid pace. At the same time, media interest is enormous and television viewers are looking forward to an exciting season where the Biathlon team can be expected to take on further.
